Greetings – thank you for reading my story. My name is Kathryn Snook, and with over 35 years of selective miniature schnauzer breeding I have developed the unique lines of Schondara Schnauzers.
Back in the 1980’s when I purchased my first pedigree schnauzer dog the breed was quite rare, not the same situation today. Which is why it is important to choose a breeder with a proven reputation. After acquiring my first breeding girl I selectively bred to the NZ standard and have gone on to raise and show over 20 NZ breed champions myself, I have since become involved in the world of competitive dog sports as miniature schnauzers are an intelligent and easy to train breed.
Over the years, I have grown to love Miniature Schnauzers for their spunky, inquisitive nature, and their loyalty and affection to their owners. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and helping you find the perfect pup to join your family.

My breeding programme aims to breed healthy, well-adjusted pups that are loving family members and eager to join in all your adventures. All our parents undergo breed specific health checks and genetic DNA profile testing for hereditary conditions. Each pup is vet checked and has received their initial vaccinations and worming treatments before leaving.
Schondara Schnauzers is situated on a semi-rural, tree-lined, park-like section in Christchurch close to the beach and forest. Mum and pups are part of family life within the home setting until the pups require more space to play and explore. At this point, they are moved to a cosy house-like compound to assist them with the transition to family life and they soon learn the difference between indoor and outdoor settings.
Much of my time is spent with the puppies getting to know their personalities. This, combined with the information you provide about your family life, helps me to match each owner with the best puppy for them.
